Batman rebirth

Batman Rebirth is an American superhero film released in the year 2000, based on the classic DC Comics. It is a sequel to the 1997 film Batman and Robin. Due to the failure of the previous film, Warner Bros. brought Tim Burton back onto the project to make the series more serious again. Val Kilmer reprised his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman since George Clooney had no interest in playing Batman again after Batman and Robin.

Plot[]

After Alfred retires, he returns to England with his niece Barbara, also known as Batgirl. Batman and Robin decide to split up, and Bruce Wayne retires from crime-fighting. Dick Grayson abandons the "Robin" identity and becomes "Nightwing". During his many crusades, he comes across Harleen Napier, the daughter of Jack Napier (better known as The Joker, Batman's very first arch-nemesis), who is using the persona of Harley Quinn to seek out Batman and avenger her father's death. Her henchman, the scale-covered cannibal Killer Croc, attacks Nightwing, and manages to unmask him, discovering he is really Dick Grayson. Nightwing escapes, and goes to Bruce for help. Harley reveals Nightwing's true identity to the world after hijacking a television broadcast. Dick Grayson is targeted by several revenge-seeking villains, and is protected by police officers Renee Montoya and Harvey Bullock.

When Dick Grayson is nearly killed, Bruce comes out of retirement, and suits up as Batman to take down Harley Quinn. Batman attacks Harley Quinn's lair, and takes down her minions, but is attacked by Killer Croc. Batman knocks Killer Croc out a window and into a dumpster. Harley Quinn shoots Batman, seemingly killing him. Harley Quinn sends out a public message claiming she has killed Batman, and right before she unmasks him on live television, Nightwing attacks and defeats her. Renee Montoya and Harvey Bullock arrive to arrest Quinn and Croc, and Dick Grayson decides to give up crime-fighting now that his true identity has been revealed.

The film ends with Batman running by himself through the rooftops as the Bat-Signal shines in the sky.
